May 3rd 2020, coasts of Libreville Gabon a kidnapping occurred. Two fishing vessels , attacked kidnapping six crew members on its way.
Vessel (Amerger II), vessel (Amerger VII) all Senegal flagged. Both vessels attacked 20, 36 nautical miles away of Gabon
Nationalities are unknown , however reports say that three are Indonesian, two Senegalese and one South Korean. Kidnappings for ransom are occurring more often than theft/robbery across piracy in West Africa. Leaving 47 piracy attacks this year, mentioned in our other articles. Concluding , safety on sea in West Africa is not enough to support all vessels sailing these dangerous seas. This incidents outlines all factors that West Africa is still among the most dangerous piracy hotspots.
